Yes, moms are busy, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to look our best too. We can take our kids to school, go to a work meeting and fix dinner while having amazing hair, thank you very much. Granted, more often than not, spending an hour every day styling your hair is not a luxury moms have. And so we go out the door, wearing the same hair style we have been wearing for years. Maybe in a ponytail if we are feeling fancy. But that doesn’t have to be the case. Here are some easy, hassle-free and pretty hair styles that are perfect for busy moms.
1. Pixie cut
Thinking about a radical change? Chop all your hair off. Pixies are tricky and scary, especially if you are attached to your long, flowing locks, but if you think you can pull one off, go ahead and do it. This cut is stylish, beautiful, feminine and practical. A good pixie cut is as “wash and wear” as it comes (at most, you’ll spend five minutes applying some product to give it volume), but it will always look amazing.
2. Twists and buns
If you are not particularly interested in cutting your hair, that’s okay, there are a lot of easy and chic styles for your long strands as well. Twists and buns are perfect for those days when you haven’t had time to wash your hair, and they look fantastic as well. You can pull up your hair in a bun in five minutes and walk out of the door feeling fabulous. The best part is how versatile these styles are. High buns, low buns, sleep styles, messy twists, you will never get bored.
3. Beachy waves
For a naturally feminine, carefree style, you can’t do better than beachy waves. The only thing to watch out for is super frizzy hair. If your hair is looking too much like you just got out of bed, it will look like you didn’t even look in the mirror before going out. Use some sea salt spray on the ends and scrunch them to make the style hold its shape and off you go.
Braided styles are as versatile as they come. There are infinite variations of style and braid techniques you can mix and match for perfect hair every day. And it really won’t take long once you get the hand of braiding. Braids have another advantage: they are as practical as they are chic. Braiding your bangs is perfect if you don’t want to deal with your baby tugging on your hair, for example.
5. Headbands, scarves and foulards
When your hair just won’t fall into place, don’t be afraid to accessorize! Especially with trendy accessories like headbands. These are ideal to go just one more day without washing your hair, as thick bands will cover oily hair. It’s also perfect to cover up roots that wen slightly too long without a touch-up and even to pull back your bangs so nobody knows they are due for a trim. These styles are varied, comfortable and pretty, and they won’t take you more than five minutes to put together. The best part is that they can actually liven up any other style. A ponytail is boring, but add a headband and you will look instantly chic.
